Yes, it is the Feast of Saint Dominic de Guzman, the founder of the Dominicans and indisputable Big Dog. Yes, I ought to be talking about him this year. Maybe next.
I suppose it is not really a miracle that someone named Myron lived to be one hundred years old -- times were different back then and kids didn't punish each other mercilessly for having strange names. Moreover, Myron probably wasn't such a strange name in third century Crete.
Myron's wonders did include a couple of cool legends. The first was about some bandits who raided his granary. He decided that bandits must really be hard up if they are stealing grain instead of gold, so he helped them load up their ill-gotten food. Somewhat perplexed by his generosity, they inquired. Soon after, they converted.
On another occasion, he needed to cross the River Triton to reach some of his parishioners, but it was raging. He tapped the water with his stick to freeze it solid. Then he walked across and continued on to town. Once there, he remembered that the river was still frozen, so he sent an assistant back with the staff to tap it again.
